One of Dr. Chetta’s areas of research interest is breast reinnervation, an emerging area of breast reconstruction focused on restoring sensation following mastectomy and reconstruction.

Over the past decade, Dr. Chetta has served patients in underserved areas including Kenya, Cameroon, Gaza, and Nepal, performing life-changing reconstructive procedures for children and adults suffering from burns, congenital conditions, or traumatic injuries.
But his impact goes far beyond the operating room. As an active leader in the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS), Dr. Chetta has helped develop a comprehensive plastic surgery residency training curriculum in Africa. This program—built to meet both U.S. academic standards and African surgical board requirements—has become a model for sustainable surgical education across more than a dozen countries.
In addition, he serves as Chair of the Plastic Surgery Section of the Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA), where he leads global initiatives, fosters ethical collaboration, and mentors surgeons in advancing patient care with excellence and compassion.
