Outside of medicine, Dr. Chetta is a husband and father who values family above all else. His dedication to family informs his philosophy of treating every patient like someone’s loved one.

He is also deeply committed to international mission work and surgical education. Over the past decade, Dr. Chetta has served patients in underserved areas including Kenya, Cameroon, Gaza, and Nepal, performing life-changing reconstructive procedures for children and adults suffering from burns, congenital conditions, or traumatic injuries.

But his impact goes far beyond the operating room. As an active leader in the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS), Dr. Chetta has helped develop a comprehensive plastic surgery residency training curriculum in Africa. This program—built to meet both U.S. academic standards and African surgical board requirements—has become a model for sustainable surgical education across more than a dozen countries.

In addition, he serves as Chair of the Plastic Surgery Section of the Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA), where he leads global initiatives, fosters ethical collaboration, and mentors surgeons in advancing patient care with excellence and compassion.

Through these roles, Dr. Chetta is not only treating patients abroad but also building systems, training surgeons, and creating lasting change that will multiply far beyond his own direct efforts.
